The hardest part of growing up Queer was accepting and harnessing the ability to believe that my body can be loved. 

That I deserved pleasure. And that there will be people in the world who would desire me. And want to be with me, be with my body, offer it love and intimacy. 

And while that belief was shaken multiple times, my heart broken several more; shamed and insulted for my body and sexuality, I never allowed myself to conclude that I cannot demand for love. I cannot demand for sex. I cannot demand for connection. I cannot demand for pleasure. 

I always believed how I chose to make love and ask for it was my right. Was my choice. And there will always be people who would want to make love to me exactly the way I wanted as long as I was willing to desire my body as much as I thought they would desire.

And this was one of my first insights into why Sex Sells!!!

It sells because someone has the courage to show up in their most naked, authentic, rawest form. That someone has the belief that in their most vulnerable form, they are most powerful. Most authentic. And most desired. And with that courage, they have the power to ask for love. To ask for intimacy. To ask for connection.
